This happens if encryption is enabled, to hide sensitive note titles from the cloud service.

Before version 10, this behaviour could also be enabled without using encryption. It allowed using special characters in note titles. Since version 10, this behaviour has been changed. Note titles are used as filenames, while still supporting special characters and emoji.
